Crooked Creek Rugged western scenery imbues this compact layout with visual flavor, while a unique curved double-sided backdrop doubles the apparent space. On the town side (lower half), flat building fronts set against the backdrop create much of the town, while on the mountainous mining side (upper half) a long bridge gives an ordinary figure-eight added drama. With its grades, tunnels and bridges, it should be a fun challenge to build. Notes on operation: This layout can support one continuously-running train, plus the possibility of a switcher working the yard at the same time, assuming insulators were added where the yard meets the main as shown in the parts plan below. DCC would make the operation of two trains much easier.
