2. The Track
Building the layout presented a great many challenges. I started with the basics: track. Zn3 track was made relatively easy thanks to some custom Code 25 rail I had manufactured for me back in 2006 or thereabouts. I used a pretty typical process, starting with PC board ties bonded to styrene with CA, soldering on the rails, etcetera.
Compare the finished result (below, center) with commercial Z Scale track (below, top) and T Gauge track (below, bottom).
