Begun 4 January 2010, the Pine Creek Railroad in Z scale would be a true modeling adventure. I was faced with a considerable challenge since the real Pine Creek Railroad in New Jersey on which it's based is three-foot narrow gauge. Absolutely everything would have to be scratchbuilt, including the track, locomotives and rolling stock, even the wheels and trucks; without doubt it would be an exercise in pushing the Z scale modeling envelop—hard!

Unfortunately, just completing one object—the Shay crankshaft—convinced me to abandon the project. However, there's loads of information here—particularly about the real Pine Creek Railroad—that some folks might appreciate.
