Moving into the scenery phase, I thought it wise to firm up some of the plan revisions that have been milling around in my head for a while, so that I don't accidentally paint myself into a corner that might prevent me from including a feature.

With the home page becoming increasingly cluttered and disorganized, much of the site has undergone a considerable amount of tinkering. Mostly it's been a matter of providing a better hierarchy of linking, although the home page has also enjoyed a visual makeover, complete with a new photo and fancy main menu. Ultimately I wanted to streamline the organization as well as underscore the fact that the site is more than just about my layout—it's intended to become a resource for Z scale modelers. Owing to the more or less random way the internet works, a Z scale newbie might stumble onto this site and start wondering, what the heck? To save them a lot of clicking, I've added an About Z page that provides a "Cliff's Notes" version of the history of Z scale and what's going on today.

Layout-wise, the deck bridge article has been expanded to highlight the construction of the piers and abutments. Read the story to see why their construction had to be temporarily suspended.

And finally, I've drafted another Editorial, "Why Z, and Why Now?" just to keep the first one company.
