Low Clearance Flashers

Given that I have an old railroad bridge on my Men At Work diorama with low clearance, I'd needed an appropriate warning sign. I chose one with flashers, as it offered an excuse to add more lights. (Insert winking emoticon thingie here.)

Installation was a piece of cake. I simply mounted the 1.6mm axial lead LEDs to a piece of sheet styrene that formed the side of the bridge. The wires pass behind the bridge abutment to the flasher circuit, mounted right inside the structure; this eliminated the need to run fine solenoid wires any further than necessary. The yellow lights alternate just like grade crossing flashers, so a cheapie circuit was all that was required.

After I painted and weathered the structure, I made a low clearance sign to go between the lights: I printed artwork I rendered on yellow plastic label stock with a laser printer.
