SYNOPSIS
Aboard the Behemoth, the wounded stream in along with medical supplies. Based on the wild stories he's been telling about destroyed civilizations and seeing Miller, Holden is thought to be insane, and is taken to the brig.
Anna and Amos discuss what to do about Melba, whose strength mod has been disabled. Everyone on the Roci head for the Behemoth, where Melba is taken to the brig.
Paralyzed from the waist down, Drummer begins assembling a pair of mechanical legs. Naomi helps her, and Drummer escorts Naomi to the brig. Holden convinces Drummer that he can get the Protomolecule to release all of the ships. After detonating a nuclear warhead near the Station, the UN scientist realizes that the Protomolecule could possibly obliterate the entire Solar System, so Ashford begins making plans to destroy the Ring Gate, sacrificing everyone in the Ring Space in order to save humanity.
ANALYSIS
"Not a bad way to die."
Drummer carries this episode, if only by virtue of one amazing scene in the infirmary, although Amos and Anna discussing what to do with Melba is thought-provoking. "This one won't be grateful for your mercy." Always trust Amos to tell it like it is.
Best Scene: After Drummer throws the doctor out, she momentarily breaks down before hauling herself over to a rack of prosthetic equipment. Cara Gee is staggeringly good; her physical and emotional pain and anguish are palpable.
Best Line: Fitted with prosthetic legs, Drummer escorts Naomi to the brig, where they're met by a crewman who looks Drummer up and down. "Good to see you on your... feet." His timing is perfect.
Technobabble Alert: It's running thick and fast, what with the Protomolecule's presumed ability to destroy the entire Solar System, and the frantic plans to try and thwart the threat with powerful lasers and whatnot. The UN scientist's rather sudden ability to determine the nature and timing of the Station's threat earns a very rare eye-roll emoticon award.
