The Kentucky Fried Movie

Cut from similar cloth as The Groove Tube, Kentucky is much more polished—if one were inclined to use that term for R-rated (R for Ribald) entertainment. Finding a backer was tough going, but the gamble paid off, and the film scored big at the box office; the writers then went on to pen such comedies as Airplane! and Police Squad! Although tasteless and juvenile, the anthology of sketches does contain a few gems, and I'll confess the tasteless, juvenile part of me enjoys them.
