Monster House

2006, Amblin Entertainment et al

Monster House was so inconsequential that I had to look it up online to jog any memory of it; basically it's Halloween for little folks. Robert Zemeckis nearly repeated a Polar Express catastrophe, relying once again on motion capture technology. However, it seemed to offer no benefit for Monster House: the characters were neither creepy nor amusing; they merely occupyied visual space. Most other CGI houses rely on trained animators using traditional techniques, with far more more pleasing results.
