What a strange medium for the likes of Woody Allen! Although it was quite well received (with a Rotten Tomatoes score of 96%), for me it was just plain awkward; nothing quite gelled. Making matters worse, the animation itself was not up to the level of quality the industry was capable of producing, even back in 1998.
In the end, it felt like a cheap knock-off of A Bug's Life, and indeed there's a reason this may be so: that film gave rise to a massive feud between producers, the end result being the formation of DreamWorks.
