Track Plans: 3. The Wedge

Placing long, straight tracks at an angle to the edge of a layout is a tried-and-true trick to make a layout look larger and a plan more interesting. This one has the added detail of a generous passenger terminal, made possible by two pairs of switches, as well as a substantial metropolis. Given the "fussy" performance of the manual switches presently available, you may wish to leave them as props rather than actually use them; however, if you're game to try, note that you'll have some custom wiring to do in order to control the movements of up to four trains. You'll also be kept very busy making all of those buildings!
