Grump Central Archive: Week of 21 January 2018

Saturday, 27 January 2018

Another week of radio silence. And now my neck has gone bad—one of two acutely degenerating discs has likely herniated, which has been a chronic problem since my 30s. Hasn't happened in years, so it was only a matter of time. Just one more thing to go wrong.

This morning I was greeted by Bobby's feral friend. It's the first time I've seen the stray in over a week, and I was relieved to know s/he was OK. I've wished that I might befriend the visitor so I could, at the very least, spay/neuter the little one. Beyond that, I could only be a friend; my situation wouldn't allow me to do anything else. Damn my life. I am cursed.

I've informed my lawyer that the end of January is the end of the contract (I extended the deadline one month owing to the holidays). But now radio silence includes him, so I'm not sure about anything anymore.

Wednesday, 24 January 2018

We're headed back to the freezer, from a high of 60 yesterday to a low of 34 last night, and a predicted low in the teens tomorrow night. The respite was all too brief. And as radio silence continues, I'm struggling to find viable alternatives to an unacceptable life.

Tuesday, 23 January 2018

Rainy days and... Tuesdays. And a return to radio silence. I'm at the point of just walking away from everything and taking my chances as a homeless person.

Monday, 22 January 2018

A low in the 40s and a predicted high near 60 help to improve my mood. Even the birds are happier—this Carolina Wren was singing his little heart out this morning.

Sunday, 21 January 2018

Another Sunday, another sunrise. Not much more to say, as I'm numb.
