Three years ago right around now I got temporary electric service. I was officially on the grid, freeing me from the need to run a generator which, after three and a half years, had become a pain in the neck; the novelty of living off-grid had long worn off. Incidentally, my new electric service was supplied by a 350-foot extension cord, and I lived that way for almost a year and a half.

Then it would have been done by now, and I'd have been able to enjoy the last several years of my life far more than I have. But, of course, it's silly to think that way...
