The Accidental Railfan: New Hope & Ivyland

Autumnal Reverie, Part 1: #40 arriving in Lahaska. (Title is wrong on the video.) Technical notes: In order to prevent the sky and steam from "blooming" (washing out the rest of the image), I used a graded filter that reduced the brightness of the top half of the image. Also, to prevent the whistle from distorting (as it so often does when the engine is close to the camera), I placed a baffle in front of the microphone. Location note: The view across the vast cornfield (my all-time favorite shot) is no longer possible; the cornfield is now a sea of McMansions.

Autumnal Reverie, Part 2: #40 approaching Aquetong Road. The whistle signal heard as she approaches the grade crossing remains my all-time favorite whistle sound; it still sends chills up my spine.

Autumnal Reverie, Part 3: #40 leaving New Hope. (Title is wrong on the video.) Some of the views of the trestle were quite difficult to get.
