For modelers who dig "model railroady" layouts, and want to cram as much as they can into a 3 x 5 foot space, here's a plan that features a mainline run of over 50 feet—that's more than a scale mile and a half! It's designed for Atlas Code 80 "snap" track, just to make it even more "model railroady."

Note that the crossovers on the mainline at the lower center/right provide a number of operation options. For instance, you can use them to do "out-and-back" style runs from the yard. They also allow you to run "left-handed" on the lower loop, so that the siding at the industry near downtown becomes a trailing siding.
