UFO

1970-1973, Century 21 Television Productions

Gerry and Sylvia Anderson produced junk food for TV, and did so with pride. Their first live-action series after making several children's marionette shows, UFO was an unmistakable child of the 70s; its preposterous blend of exploding models, juvenile dialog and purple-haired go-go girls proved surprisingly popular. But it does beg the question: to the modern audience, is it so bad it's good, or is it just really, really bad? Considering how difficult it is to make it through all 26 episodes, I lean just slightly more toward the latter.
