Gerry Anderson's New Captain Scarlet

2005, Anderson Entertainment et al

Evidently in an attempt to bring his image into the 21st Century, Gerry Anderson rebooted his classic 1967 Supermarionation (puppet) series, Captain Scarlet and the Mysterons, using CGI, or as he called it, Hypermarionation. It would be the last program Anderson produced. Although the animation isn't state-of-the-art, it's still quite decent, considering the target audience is children; I'm especially impressed by the music. A major issue has to do with the fact that the series hasn't been licensed for release in North America; consequently, the only way to watch it is with a region-free, PAL-to-NTSC converting player.
