My favorite by far of all the Peanuts specials, Great Pumpkin is a freewheeling anthology-like string of classic Charles Shultz vignettes, all tied loosely together with Linus' firm belief in the Great Pumpkin. Snoopy's dogfight is without question the highlight of the film—if not the whole series—and I still enjoy it to this day. The late, great Vince Guaraldi also contributed some of his most memorable Peanuts themes. The very definition of nostalgia, it's somewhat unnerving that it's well over 50 years old!
