Extreme Trains

2008, The History Channel

Being a railroad aficionado (a.k.a. railfan), I've seen quite a few railroad documentaries. Hosted by Matt Bown, a train conductor for Pan Am Railways in Maine, Extreme Trains is a pretty sorry excuse for a rail doc. About the most extreme thing in this mercifully short-lived series is Bown's laughably excessive enthusiasm. He shouts with utter astonishment about the most tepid minutiae of modern railroading, as if it was a miracle the trains ran at all. Even the visuals are over-the-top, with needless pans and zooms to give otherwise boring material artificial energy. Sorry I spent money on this turd.
