What an incredibly elegant, eloquent and engaging look at how we got here. Written and presented by British mathematician and science historian Jacob Bronowski, Ascent is to humankind what Cosmos is to the Universe. Some of Bronowski's monologues are so deeply moving they can bring one to tears, particularly in Episode 11, "Knowledge or Certainty," wherein he examines, among other things, the Holocaust. Highest recommendation.
