Leave it to Pixar to anthropomorphize something no one else would ever think to animate—in this case, a lonely, lovesick volcano. If you can get past the strangeness of the characters, it's a cute little musical love story/fable, nicely animated and rendered. But honestly, it's not one of Pixar's better efforts.
