Attack of the Killer Tomatoes

1978, J. Stephen Peace

With the intent of being a spoof of B-movies, Tomatoes is an example of an enormous missed opportunity, although it was so successful at the box office that it spawned two sequels. It's kind of a "meta" film in reverse, if that makes any sense: although it was meant to be "bad," it was so poorly executed that it comes off as "bad" itself. Perhaps the most remarkable aspect of the film is the helicopter crash: it was real!
