Sing2016, Illumination Entertainment I was all set to write this film off; I'd really had enough of talking animals, and I'm admittedly biased against musicals. But I was oddly disappointed that I could find little fault in this remarkably endearing film. The characters are well-rounded and fun, and the story, while it covers familiar ground, somehow seems fresh. It wasn't perfect—not many films are—but it was thoroughly entertaining. And, not surprisingly, the animation was impressive. DKS 12/17/17 FART-O-METER® Rating:

Sing 22021, Illumination Entertainment I honestly didn't think they could do it; I felt certain it would be a flop or, best case, mediocre. But writer/director Garth Jennings managed to pull it off. At times predictable, at others waaay over the top, Sing 2 nevertheless had enough heartfelt emotional beats, supported by excellent animation, to make the 110 minute investment worthwhile. Note that it relies on one having seen the first film, but that's not a strike against it; indeed, it gets us into the meat of the story more quickly, and provides room for new characters. "But I still haven't found what I'm looking for." DKS 9/24/22 FART-O-METER® Rating:
