It had all the right ingredients, including comic gold mine Tom Hanks. But... nothing clicked. There are plenty of bits that seem like they ought to be funny, but just fall flat. Perhaps something was lost in the translation, since it's a remake of the French film Le Grand Blond avec une Chaussure Noire (The Tall Blond man with One Black Shoe) which, as it happens, was much funnier.
