Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings

I'm not sure if it's superhero burnout, or if this one simply doesn't have much going for it. Asian film legend Tony Leung delivers a nuanced performance, assuming you can tune out the glut of mystical mumbo-jumbo and martial arts mayhem. The film certainly had some good set pieces, particularly the San Francisco articulated bus fight. And of course, being a Marvel superhero film, it's wall-to-wall effects. But the sum of its parts just didn't add up. And that's about all I can say about that.
If this review sounds vaguely familiar, it's actually something of a clone of my review of Captain Marvel. Both films just feel like also-rans in an already overcrowded Marvel Universe.
