Robots

2005, Blue Sky Studios

I recall watching this with my girlfriend at the time of its release on DVD, and about ten minutes into it she huffed, "Why are you making me watch this?" and promptly left the room. That experience sort of tainted my feelings about the film, until I attempted to watch it again on my own, and I started to get why she reacted that way. A premise carrying so much potential—including the voice talent of the late, great Robin Williams, among sooo many others—simply went nowhere. After about the twentieth machine-related gag, my interest began to wane, despite the detailed and well-polished visuals. It's sad, because I really wanted to like it more.
