Red Planet2000, Village Roadshow Pictures Yet another entry in the Martian-exploration-gone-wrong craze, Red Planet invokes in me the same frustration as the rest: considerable resources are invested in the plausible depiction of space exploration only to have the story devolve into a walking-dead, alien-monster or killer-bug waste byproduct. This one is marginally better than some others owing to half-decent performances. That's not to suggest it's time well spent—unless, like me, you fantasize about reworking the film into something believable and uplifting. Yeah, I know, just as effective and satisfying to beat my head against a wall. DKS 12/17/17 GRUMPY OLD FART-O-METER® Rating:
