The Prophet

2014, Ventanarosa et al

As one who loves Kahlil Gibran's The Prophet, I was delighted to see someone set his inspiring prose to images and music. Salma Hayek produced a film that weaves Gibran's story through a series of vignettes, each animated by a different artist, thus providing a rich variety of captivating visual styles. The result isn't quite as extraordinary or evocative as I'd hoped, but it's still highly recommended, especially for those who appreciate Gibran and/or creative animation.
