While visually magnificent from every angle, Passengers utterly fails when it comes to its overly-simple, horribly wrong-headed story. Even a pair of very attractive, charismatic leads can't rescue this ship from certain doom. The only reason to see it is for the special effects, because if ever there was a case where effects alone could justify seeing an otherwise fatally flawed film, this is it.
Oh, I almost forgot... Michael Sheen is a hoot as the robot bartender.
