Lucy had two reasons to exist: one, exploit the 10% brain myth that Limitless explored with moderate success; and two, exploit Scarlett Johansson's reputation as a kick-ass female action hero. Indeed, most of Lucy's success lies with Johansson's potent mix of strength, intelligence and sex appeal. Beyond that, there are a few mildly interesting visual effects. Morgan Freeman is on hand to deliver the necessary exposition and give the film's absurd premise some credibility. Sucks to be him.
