There's simply no denying this is a great film. Everything about it is tremendous. It's been hailed as one of the greatest Holocaust films ever made, and it's number eight in The American Film Institute's 100 best American films of all time.
Except... Liam Neeson's embarrassingly over-the-top parting soliloquy. Sorry, but like a teaspoon of effluent in a barrel of wine, that one brief scene ruined the whole film for me. If only...
