Jack and the Cuckoo-Clock Heart

It's difficult to pinpoint exactly why this animated fantasy doesn't work. It's well-produced, and refreshingly original in both story and visual style. It's certainly not awful, yet it lost the producers nearly $20 million. It's not a waste of time, to be sure, but its appeal may be limited to students of animation in search of the obscure.
