Starship Invasions1977, Hal Roach Studios As so-bad-it's-good disasters go, Starship Invasions is right up there with the "best" of them. With the one-two punch of Robert Vaughn (Battle Beyond the Stars) and Christopher Lee, this utterly inept attempt at filmmaking will simultaneously keep your jaw dropped and your funnybone tickled right up until the end credits. Written, produced and directed by Ed Hunt—who had to have been a student of Ed Wood—it was made with complete sincerity (as opposed to being deliberately bad, like Attack of the Killer Tomatoes), making it all the more hysterical. My score obviously reflects the level of enjoyment, and not the quality of filmmaking. Incidentally, to date this film has never been released on video; the only way to see it is via a bootleg VHS tape. DKS 12/17/17 GRUMPY OLD FART-O-METER® Rating:
