The Imitation Game

2014, Black Bear Pictures et al

Kudos to the filmmakers for making a story about the father of computing so enthralling. Benedict Cumberbatch stars as the troubled, sexually confused and wrongly convicted decryption expert who assembles one of the world's first computing devices to crack the Enigma code used by the Nazis in World War II. Superbly cast, perfectly acted and beautifully shot, The Imitation Game's only fault has nothing to do with the film itself—it's a Weinstein property.
