There was so much potential here; unfortunately, tremendous technical and performance talent was squandered on a derivative, uninspired good-versus-evil fantasy tale. While there are a few glimmers of originality here and there, it's not enough to lift it up above mediocre. About all it really has going for it, at least for adult audiences, are the lush, gorgeous visuals.
