Colossus: the Forbin Project

Groundbreaking or earthshaking it may not be, Colossus is still a reasonably solid, reasonably plausible science fiction film. What it lacks in creativity it makes up for with intelligence, although the acting and dialog are annoyingly dated. A remake has been in the works for over a decade, ostensibly directed by Ron Howard and starring Will Smith, although it would appear the project is dead.
