Cloudy With a Chance of Meatballs

Sadly, I have two problems with this otherwise harmless bit of CGI. First, the visual design and animation style are unpleasant-looking to my eye. I realize this is a personal thing, but it did make it harder to enjoy the film. And second, it's definitely geared toward the younger crowd, with precious little to maintain the interest of the parents' attention. I realize filmmakers are under no obligation to offer the grownups any entertainment, but it might make family viewing a bit more engaging.
Evidently kids liked it enough, though, that Sony produced a sequel, Cloudy With a Chance of Meatballs 2. I didn't bother.
