Two Mules for Sister Sara

1970, The Malpaso Company

Not being big on westerns, I made an exception with this film, simply because it comfortably straddles a three-way split between western, comedy and self-parody (hence its home in the comedy films list). It also harkens back to a time when Hollywood produced simple entertainment, when audiences were easier to please. The pairing of the quintessential western star (Eastwood) with a multi-genre Oscar-winner (McClaine) works well; the onscreen chemistry is quite good, and the twist ending, while not a huge surprise, is fun.
