pound gorilla of model scenery suppliers. They've flooded the market with their detailing products and pre-finished buildings. |
Scenic Accents Figures
This product line comprises nearly 100 Chinese-made sets. Quite a number of sets are identical to those from Noch.
Given that Woodland sells rebranded Noch track cleaning accessories, one might assume Noch supplies their figures. However, many Woodland sets
are not in the Noch catalog, so if Noch is the source, they made over two dozen sets exclusively for Woodland. Or, is there a third source supplying
both companies with figures? At any rate, the highly variable quality of Woodland figures is consistent with that of Noch. Quality is obfuscated by the
fact that Woodland Scenics promotes their N Scale products using either images of HO Scale items (often heavily retouched), or cartoonish illustrations.
All figure sets come in clamshell packaging. Gaps in the catalog numbers are due to detail sets with no figures, such as pallets and park
benches. A2172 may or may not have been discontinued; it's missing from their website. Photos are mine.

AutoScenes
 Woodland Scenics has also created AutoScenes,
which are Chinese-made generic 1950s-ish vehicles embellished with painfully corny names and some the worst N Scale figures ever made; I've nicknamed the
fellow at right "elephant man"—what looks like dirt on his face I think is supposed to be a beard. Some vehicle drivers are nothing more than lumps;
in a few cases, e.g. Rusty's Regret, it's debatable if a driver even exists. All AutoScenes come in clamshell packaging. Note that there are
lighted versions of some of these vehicles, which are not included.
Where to Buy
There's no escaping Woodland Scenics products. From tiny little brick-and-mortar shops to the biggest online e-stores, you'll find them in droves.
