The Company
The FiguresAt one time Tomix sold rebranded Preiser N Scale figures. As they had for Kato, Preiser painted many of these figures to appear more Japanese. They've been unavailable for quite some time, and consequently the list is probably incomplete. Tomix issued these sets twice. The first series have Tomy molded into the box lid, while the second has Tomix molded into the lid. The paper inserts for the first series had Tomix and the catalog number printed on the inside, and orange Tomix logos and "Made in the Federal Republic of Germany" on the outside. The second series had nothing printed on the inside, and white Tomix logos and "Made in Germany" on the outside. The boxes had no other English text. Photos are mine.
Diorama CharactersTomix also produced some N Scale diorama figures. I've broken the house rule of no fantasy figures to give you a taste of what's out there; Sun-Star Stationery and Fujimoto make more, if you're up for a right-angle detour. Images from Hobby Search and Amazon in Japan. Where to BuyTomix products are available worldwide, although their old Preiser figure sets are virtually non-existent now. I'm pretty sure the diorama characters have all been discontinued as well, and consequently difficult if not impossible to find. Previous | Home | NextCopyright © 2017-2020 by David K. Smith.
