The Figures
Decades ago, NJI took Preiser figures and packed them individually in little blister packs, bestowing some with cute names. Although their "Crowd Pleasers" are now long gone, they still sell Preiser figure sets online. Note that the blister packs contain blocks of foam rubber to hold the figures in place; over time the foam disintegrates, either crumbling into dust or turning into sticky brown goo.
NJI must have enjoyed several runs of these products, since the packaging bears multiple labeling styles. Some figures were swapped out with others on occasion; see the two versions of 6214 and 6215 (these are not counted separately in the item tally). The gaps in the catalog numbers are due to the HO Scale versions of the figures: they followed the same numbering scheme, but Preiser didn't make all of the same corresponding figures in N Scale. In a few instances, HO packaging was used for N Scale figures by mistake. Photos are mine.
