Pine Creek Railroad in Z Scale

Chiriqui Land Company No. 46

Built March 1914 by the H.K. Porter Company of Pittsburgh, 2-6-0 s/n 5514 was sold to the Chiriqui Land Company, a US-owned banana operation and subsidiary of Chiquita Brands International in Panama, as their No. 46. Research into her original appearance and configuration is ongoing; the few Porter 2-6-0s that still exist have almost always been transmuted into creatures designed for tourist attractions, such as Agricola de Guatemala No. 39, s/n 5518, which is now Denver, South Park and Pacific No. 22 at the South Park Historical Foundation in Fairplay, Colorado (above right). Another example is one that used to run at the now-defunct Petticoat Junction Amusement Park in Panama City Beach, Florida (left). At any rate, No. 46 was sold in 1961 to W.H. Morrison of Freehold, New Jersey, and in 1969 she was donated to the New Jersey Museum of Transportation; she's currently in the enginehouse at Allaire State Park in the midst of restoration:
