Supplies: Squadron Putty

Most veteran modelers rely on Squadron Putty to fill imperfections in styrene models, although it works on wood as well. The paste-like material comes in a tube; you squeeze out what you need and apply it with a tool such as a small spatula or chisel-blade knife. It sands similarly to styrene, although it's not easily cut or drilled. It comes in two colors, white and green; I've personally not found the green to be very useful, as it takes quite a bit of paint to cover.

Just getting started? Squadron Putty is available through many of the better hobby retailers, including (surprise?) Micro-Mark, although they only carry green!
