Tools: Miniature Needle Nose Pliers

There will be times when you'll need to hold onto a small part with a substantially firmer grip than tweezers will provide. You'll also need to be able to bend small tubing, wire or other metal shapes with a degree of control you can't get using regular-duty tools. I bought a pair of miniature needle nose pliers back when I was in high school, and I've still got them. I've since gotten a couple of other pairs, as they're getting a bit worn out, but one decent-quality pair will last a long time.

Just getting started? You can find jeweler's needle nose pliers in the jewelry-making section of craft stores such as Michael's, but I've found their quality to be dubious. Best to look in hardware or home improvement stores. Or, if you're online, Micro-Mark has a good assortment, including these.
