Supplies: White & Carpenter's Glue

Carpenter's glue is just a stronger form of the more familiar white glue, popularly known as Elmer's Glue-All. Either white or carpenter's glue are ideal for bonding porous materials such as wood, paper, cloth, and so forth. I tend to choose carpenter's glue over plain white glue as it's water resistant, so it's also useful for things like laminating materials together for layout subroadbed, which will get soaked with water during ballasting. Mixed 50-50 with water, white glue is the classic ballast bonding agent.

Just getting started? White and carpenter's glues are readily available at paint stores, home improvement centers, hardware stores, craft shops, Walmart, Target, and even most supermarkets.
