Serious Setback

No, nothing dire has happened to the layout. Instead, something dire has happened to me: I've just learned that I need a knee replacement. This is rather terrifying news, since there's always a chance with any major surgical procedure that something can go wrong, and I could be crippled, However, if I don't have the surgery, I'll be crippled anyway, since I now have bone grinding against bone in my knee, and the deterioration is accelerating at a frightening pace. My condition is sufficiently dire that the surgery was scheduled as soon as possible—tentatively the first week in July.

Thus, the Z Scale Gorre & Daphetid will be put on hold—along with everything else I'm doing—for an unknown period of time. Given how tantalizingly close to completion the layout has grown, it's all quite frustrating. I may be able to make a bit more headway before "knee day," but likely not much, as I have so many other things to get done by then, including attend the N Scale Convention in Hershey. Consider how anxious I am to go, in both extremes—positive and negative—of the term anxious.

So, while the project may appear to die off prematurely, please don't give up on it, because I won't. It's just going to enter "sleep mode" for a while, sorry to say. Real life really sucks sometimes, you know?
