Lewistown Station

This kitbashing project was born out of a desire to help a fellow modeler, Dave Vollmer. His gorgeous, well-known N Scale Juniata Division (which he's since sold) was due to be photographed for Great Model Railroads 2014, and his Lewistown station was nothing like the real one. I had a gut feeling I could easily kitbash it.

The genesis of the project was the Walthers' Cornerstone Water Street Terminal, a classic brick freight station that had a similar arrangement of windows, doors and pilasters. After gathering dozens of reference images, I went to work.

Within a couple of weeks, I had the station finished and ready to deliver in time for the photo shoot.

What surprised the hell out of me is that the station project appeared as a sidebar in Dave's GMR article!
