8.2. Roads

Reference

If you traveled to New England in the 1930s, you'd find mostly dirt roads; usually roads were only paved in larger urban areas. The dirt roads were nearly dead flat and, during New England's singular Mud Season, prone to liquefy. (I've experienced Mud Season firsthand, and it's a bit challenging.)

Many New England roads are still dirt, which is great because they provide a color reference.
