2. Familiar Techniques

There's nothing unusual about this layout with respect to how I'd built it. I relied on all of my usual materials and techniques, including heavily-bashed Cornerstone industries and DPM urban buildings.

One fun aspect of this project was that the compactness of the track plan forced me to be a bit more creative with building design.

Some of the structures—Greene Electric, for instance (above)—were loosely patterned after real-life businesses.

The larger Union Rubber building (below) began life as a Cornerstone Vulcan Manufacturing kit; the smaller building beside it was made from a few leftovers from Allied Rail Rebuilders. All of the windows and doors are custom laser-cut replacements.
