Fort Hanover: Base and TrackThe base—lauan plywood on a 1x2 frame—got under way on 15 April 2019 after a quick test-assembly of the track: Woodwork was completed on the afternoon of 26 April. The stream bed was made by laminating two angled pieces of 3/4-inch sanded plywood between the top sheet of lauan and a strip attached from below. Furniture braces at the corners provide attachment points for felt feet. On 1 June 2019 I attached the track with brush-on Krazy Glue. I then soldered all of the rail joiners, and painted it with flat brown spray paint. Not that it really matters, but I'm using genuine period ballast: ReturnCopyright © 2017-2020 by David K. Smith.
