Detail: Vehicles
Wiking hit the N Scale scene in 1969 with the finest vehicles ever made for our scale—which, amazingly, still holds true today in most respects. Although some of the vehicles on the layout were released in the late 1970s or early 80s, most are first-generation.
With blatant disregard to the retro theme, I embellished some of the vehicles with tiny (0402 and 0201) SMD LEDs. I did it simply because I wanted to—and because I could. See the police stop micro-scene for one example.
Most of the non-illuminated vehicles were installed on 27 March 2021.
